.RFID PEOPLE AND ASSET TRACKING & LOGISTICS

Securicode Solutions are highly secure and comprise of a number of user-initiated and built-in security mechanisms which identify, yet also protect, the user:

Neither SecuriCode nor its partners know to which individual end-user tags (and therefore ID’s) have been supplied. The end-user or receiving company decides to which user each tag is issued. The user's ID is protected as a result.

The user opts-in to which devices or applications they wish to be associated with. This protects the human rights of the user in that they can't be tracked by 'unauthorised devices' wherever they go.

The globally unique ID is never revealed and other ID’s are not revealed until in the field of a node with SecuriCode encrypted security-key-handshaking and auto-expiry features enabled. This prevents monitoring and cloning and protects against loss and theft.

The user does not 'advertise' they are using a personal ID as they do not have to expose a tag or waive it in front of a reader for reliable operation. This adds to the user's safety.

Tags do not transmit unless they are in the zone (range) of a node authorised to communicate with them. Node and tag authentication ensures all communication is secure.

In the event of loss or theft the tag becomes ineffective to all devices as each time a device or application interrogates a tag the SecuriCode auto-expiry function is validated. This protects the user against identity theft.

SecuriCode Ethernet and Mobile Reader nodes

Compact Flash Card Type II, suitable for PDAs

Single or Dual Node, Wired Ethernet, Power over Ethernet & Wireless LAN options.

Also available with PDA and Mobile Checkpoint application (synchronises with server-based database and administrator application) or CEWedge Add-in allowing direct integration with third-party Windows-based applications.

.ENTRANCE CONTROL AND ELECTRONIC TURNSTILES
FASTLANE Speedgates
+ More Secure:
Different height glass barrier options available to deter people from climbing over 24 beam IR detection matrix provides unsurpassed tailgate detection and deterrence; tailgaters are detected following as close as 5 mm behind authorised users Barriers are designed to close quickly and safely behind users after they have cleared the lane therefore deterring tailgaters 2-stage alarm response: early audible warning alarm followed by a secondary output for a higher security response e.g. to trigger CCTV or lock doors.

+ Fastest Throughput – Throughput of up to 1 person per second means a greater return on investment and often means fewer lanes are required, with less wasted time in queues leading to greater user acceptance.
+ Intelligent - Retracting or swinging glass barriers intelligently control traffic flow while maximising throughput. Barriers stay open while additional authorised people walk through - even if they are walking in the opposite direction.
+ Unsurpassed Accuracy – Virtually eliminates false alarms. The intelligence of Fastlane enables the system to differentiate between body mass and small objects such as umbrellas etc. This increases user and guard acceptance, avoiding “tune-out” from excessive false alarms.
+ Easiest Installation and Ongoing Maintenance – CAT 5 interconnections provide plug ‘n’ play simplicity. Industry proven technology and onboard diagnostics to ensure maximum system up-time.
+ Safety – Fastlane Speedgates feature up to 8 safety beams designed to stop the barriers from moving in the event that any of the beams are broken. The units feature a fire alarm input to allow for unimpeded emergency egress and the units can be configured to fail safe in the event of power fail.
Fast Throughput
The Fastlane Speedgates feature a Throughput Management system. When activated the barriers stay open after an authorised entry for a defined period of time to await another authorised card. This negates the need for the barrier to open and close in between authorised people at peak traffic times.
Disabled Access
Fastlane Speedgates can be installed in a number of ways to allow for wheelchair access to make the installation compliant with the UK Disabilities and Discrimination Act (DDA) as well as most similar international standards. Audio and visual feedback is provided as standard.
Concept
Fastlane Speedgates are the very latest in high tech entrance control systems and are designed to ensure only one person gains access for each authorised card presented. Fastlane Speedgates use glass barriers in conjunction with state of the art optical tailgate detection technology to provide a high throughput security gate. The glass barriers are designed to work in a normally closed mode and swing or retract inside the pedestal after a valid card has been presented to allow the authorised user to pass.
Integrated Design Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of electronics and software for the security industry. Through intensive research and development since 1985, a range of standard products has evolved, which offer innovative solutions to many of today's most common security dilemmas. Our main ranges, Fastlane Entrance Control and Rayonet Perimeter Protection, are exported across the world through a network of 3rd party dealers and distributors.

.ENGINEERING SERVICES: THERMAL ANALYSIS SOFTWARE TO CALCULATE PV SOLAR ENERGY GAINS IN BUILDING COMPLEXES

Thermal Analysis Software (TAS) allows us to create 3D models of buildings and HVAC systems that can be simulated to give us a range of environmental and energy performance data. It enables us to:-

- Simulate performance data on buildings using renewable energy technologies: photo-voltaic panels, co-generation systems, solar panels etc.
- pin-point thermal problems
- provide independent advice on the appropriateness of specified building fabric and systems options
- assist in the design of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems
- calculate energy requirements and consumption targets in proposed and existing buildings
- identify the most energy-efficient solutions between different building design, fabric and HVAC systems options
- evaluate airflow through buildings e.g. for naturally ventilated buildings
- make comparisons of energy performance in proposed or existing buildings with figures given in Best Practice Programme publications

Computational fluid dynamics software (Fluent)
This software allows us to create 3D models of areas that can be simulated to give us very detailed outputs of parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, pollutants, CO2 and air movement. This detailed modelling is often used in critically controlled spaces or in and around buildings where there are specific safety issues. It enables us to:
- evaluate airflow through spaces e.g. for naturally ventilated buildings
- analyse the microclimate in or around buildings including parameters such as temperature, humidity and airflow
- study the build-up of smoke within a space for a theoretical fire.

3D modelling to demonstrate the effect of a building on light and shade over surrounding buildings
Buildings can be modelled together with surrounding buildings to address questions such as solar shading and 'right-to-light' issues for planning applications. In one piece of work involving a proposal to erect a narrow high-rise building in place of a lower and wider existing building, 3D models were created of the existing and proposed buildings respectively together with the surrounding buildings to compare the effects on light and shade over surrounding buildings. It was then possible to calculate the number of hours of direct sunlight on selected facades of surrounding buildings in each month of the year for the existing and proposed buildings respectively. By way of illustration,
Figures 7 and 8 show the comparison between the existing and proposed buildings for the Southeast perspective for July 23rd at 3pm.
Figure 7 3D model of existing building Figure 8 3D model of proposed building

Application of CFD software
Modelling of the microclimate within a space using computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
CFD software is used to assist in the design of safe, economic and comfortable HVAC systems. It can be used to predict airflow, smoke-movement, temperature, humidity, radiation and air quality in buildings.
Figures 9 shows a perspective of the thermal model that may be used to compare the environmental effects of various construction options and provide the initial surface temperatures for the subsequent CFD analysis. The CFD analysis gives predicted air temperatures, natural ventilation and velocity vectors for the main concourse area. We can also conclude that natural ventilation dispersed the smoke produced by a theoretical 9 MW train fire so that the air in the occupied zone would remain reasonably clean and cool and thus assisted the evacuation of occupants.
Figure 10 shows the smoke concentrations at 10, 30 and 50 metre cross-sections after the fire had been burning for several minutes in a carriage on the main railway line.
